Native gardens are sanctuaries where we enact care for our shared ecosystems. While the long-term decline of monarch and other butterfly populations continues to be of significant concern, what we put into in our gardens makes a difference – and every seed sown is an act of care.  

Alongside nectar-rich flowering plants, California native milkweed provides life cycle habitat for monarchs. Sow milkweed seed in the warm months of mid-spring through summer and support monarch butterflies!
