Hedgenettles (the genus Stachys) are a mint family favorite for riparian habitat gardens. These understated, and dare we say, underutilized, herbs are evergreen, have flowers that range from light purple-to-pink-to-white, and are a great attractor for moths. They're also an adaptable spreader in the garden, blooming in both shade and sunny patches.
