Sowing Sparks Zine: A Fire Resilient LA
Sowing Sparks is a grassroots zine publication that serves to encourage collaboration, action, and climate resilience within local communities.
First emerging after the January 2025 fires decimated vibrant communities and native ecology within the Los Angeles area. Frequent, massive fires like these are not normal- healthy fire cycles have been disrupted under climate change, and it's getting worse every year. While our leaders juggle dwindling budgets, unrealistic timelines, and polarizing political interests, the people contend with the effects of climate change in real time. So we ask ourselves, "What if we take matters into our own hands?"
Sowing Sparks is a platform for exploring and showcasing the answers to many questions. We want to nurture climate resilience by sharing information, ideas, and success stories, sowing the sparks on inspiration that we hope will grow into a blaze of interconnected, community-led solutions.
